iMAGE: Redland City Bulletin
Queensland Health has reported one new case of COVID-19 today on Russell Island.
The woman is in her sixties and believed to be linked to another case.
Metro South Health is currently planning to set-up a pop-up COVID-19 testing clinic on Russell Island and this will be in operation later this afternoon and will continue for the coming days.
Contact tracing has commenced with the woman this morning and we will continue to assess the situation and provide the local community with the relevant advice.
We want to reassure the people of Russell Island and other islands in the area that we've been planning for situations like this and we are well prepared to ensure that their health needs are taken care of.
Metro South Health is in the process of arranging for the woman to be transferred to the mainland.
Please be vigilant - socially distance and if you can’t wear a mask, wash your hands and maintain good hand hygiene. If you’re sick stay at home and get tested!
